# Refund Policy

> Frequently asked questions about Zencoder refund policies, cancellations, and subscription management.

## Zencoder Refund Policy

Zencoder offers a 7-day free trial. The policies below apply after trial conversion to a paid plan.

  <Accordion title="Can I get a refund if I cancel my subscription early?">
    No. A 7-day free trial is provided to evaluate the product before purchasing. After cancellation, you retain access until the end of your current billing period.

  <Accordion title="If I downgrade my plan, do I get money back for the difference?">
    No. Downgrades take effect at the start of your next billing cycle. You keep your current plan's access until then.

  <Accordion title="Will I get a refund if my account is suspended or terminated?">
    Accounts suspended or terminated for policy violations are not eligible for refunds.

  <Accordion title="What if Zencoder decides to close my account without any reason — do I get a refund?">
    Yes. If Zencoder closes your account for reasons unrelated to policy violations, you will be refunded for the unused portion of your subscription.

  <Accordion title="If I'm on a trial, do I need to pay anything?">
    No. The 7-day trial is free with no credit card required.

  <Accordion title="Do I get a refund if the service has technical issues or downtime?">
    No. Refunds are not offered for service interruptions or downtime.

    Pausing is not currently supported. You can cancel and switch to the Free plan, then upgrade again later.

  <Accordion title="If prices increase while I'm subscribed, can I get a refund?">
    Price increases only apply to future renewals, not your current term. You will be notified in advance of any pricing changes.

  <Accordion title="Can I get a partial refund if I didn't use the service much?">
    No. The subscription fee is the same regardless of usage level. Use the 7-day free trial to evaluate before purchasing.
